Terra delivers environmental compliance work for companies with complex operations. Our agents organize records and prepare drafts. Environmental specialists review the evidence, make the calls, and approve the work customers receive.
The role
You’ll do the environmental work and help build a better way to do it. You’ll work beside engineers who turn repeatable steps into agents and checks. Your judgment will shape what they build, and you’ll review every deliverable before it reaches a customer.
What you will be doing
- Own environmental reports, filings, and reviews for customer sites. Read the permits, check the records, and decide what the evidence supports.
- Review work prepared by our agents before it reaches a customer. Trace figures to their sources, test assumptions, and resolve gaps with site teams.
- Work directly with engineers as they build the agents you use. Show them how you reach a decision, where the work repeats, and where the records demand an expert call.
- Test new checks against real work. Catch wrong answers and edge cases, then help engineers improve the process.
- Give customers clear findings and practical next steps when the records reveal a compliance gap.
What you'll need
- You’ve prepared or reviewed environmental compliance work for operating sites, either in-house or as a consultant.
- You know at least one program deeply: hazardous waste, air, stormwater, chemical inventory, or regulatory reporting.
- You can turn a permit condition or regulatory requirement into a clear question about a site’s actual operations.
- You can trace a reported figure back to its source, explain a discrepancy, and say plainly when the evidence is not enough.
- You can explain your reasoning to an engineer and tell them what a reliable check would need to catch.
- You write clearly, work well with customers, and bring a critical eye to AI-prepared work.
